     I have attended many seminars about MBA studies this discussion come across everywhere.  Experts says it is definitely necessary to become a successful businessman. And I am also felt MBA should be necessary but when I read the stories of some people I changed my opinion. Among those stories this one I inspired most.

      Ganapathy is a guy from a remote village near vizag regret with his studies. And want to do some work When he is on that thought one fellow offered him a job in Mumbai. While going with him by train that guy absconds. Hapless ganapathy has entre in Mumbai railway station. He then searches for a job by wandering through Mumbai roads finally got a job. And his work is washing of tea glasses in a hotel. Slowly he learned how to make tea by the days were gone he become tea master in the same hotel. He catches the pulse of customers and made tea according to that he knew the moods of his customers which one need what type of tea he has learned good skills in tea making owing to that he has got reputation. One person recognizes his talent and offered new business and he like to invest on this boy. So ganapathy separated from that hotel and launched new tea stall with the help of that person he managed the same crowd here also once the tea stall got a good name in that area the greedy partner deceives ganapathy and left him where he is started his life in Mumbai. Regret full ganapathy went back to his village barrowed some money from his friends and starts a new hotel there. Whatever skills he had learned in Mumbai applied here. In general hotels working men wear ugly clothes, without combing hair, and shaving beards look like as goons. But he changed that system everyday neat shave and made a new dress code to workers. He served delicious and good quality food with low prices. He says “it was my success mantra”. He added Chinese noodles to hotel menu. He got a great reputation among surrounding villages as a good dosa master. He mixes Chinese recipes to his dosas and work out them in brilliant way. Likewise he learned 30 different types of dosas. He want to create a name to his brands he named it as dosa plaza and taken patent right to that name and also to 30 verities of dosaas. Dosa plaza name was spread everywhere other hotel people bought his formula and make merry. Ganapathy started new branches all over India. Like that ganapathy become a success full businessman without studying anything perhaps MBA holders can’t do this better. I didn’t mean MBA people start their career with a tea stall but the ideas ganapathy got and the way he mould his career is just awesome. Guess what an IIM-A alumni researched on this topic and she only found these guys failure to success stories and she admitted their stories to public eye. 

well in my view, if u hv good leadership skills, good communication skills, good interpersonal skills and a good sense of business than there is no need to go for MBA bcoz thats what MBA is all about.

but to develop this traits indigenously you need to have a lot of experiences as then only you can wisdom through which these traits are developed.

Yes, Indian youth becoming greedy because they are giving respect to future in the sense they are very well aware of inevitable future troubles to survive from these worries one should be greedy from early stages of life. Moreover Indian youth thinking intellectually in now a days. During yesteryears younger generation do not optimistic about future they just live up at that span of time no future plans at all. Now the tables are turned people are very optimistic over their future and owing to that reason people are cheapskate.

Sociologically the word gender refers to the socio-cultural definition of man and woman, the way societies distinguish men and women and assign them social roles. The distinction between sex and gender was introduced to deal with the general tendency to attribute women's subordination to their anatomy. Gender is seen closely related to the roles and behaviour assigned to women and men based on their sexual differences. As soon as a child is born families and society begin the process of gendering. The birth of the son is celebrated, the birth of a daughter filled with pain; sons are showered with love, respect, better food and proper health care. Boys are encouraged to be tough and outgoing; girls are encouraged to be homebound and shy. All these differences are gender differences and they are created by society. Gender inequality is therefore a form of inequality which is distinct from other forms of economic and social inequalities. It dwells not only outside the household but also centrally within it. It stems not only from pre-existing differences in economic endowments between women and men but also from pre-existing gendered social norms and social perceptions. Gender inequality has adverse impact on development goals as reduces economic growth. It hampers the overall well being because blocking women from participation in social, political and economic activities can adversely affect the whole society. Many developing countries including India have displayed gender inequality in education, employment and health. There are vast differences in education level of two sexes. India has witnessed gender inequality from its early history due to its socio-economic and religious practices that resulted in a wide gap between the position of men and women in the society. . UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has stated, "Gender equality is more than a goal in itself. It is a precondition for meeting the challenge of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development and building good governance." There is a need for new kinds of institutions, incorporating new norms and rules that support equal and just relations between women and men. Today women are organizing themselves to meet the challenges that are hampering their development.

India having rich cultural heritage and great history couldn't do much for the women community over centuries and unfortunately this pathetic situation still prevails . some unusual norms have been created and adapted by people which seem rubbish where in men are supposed to work and earn for living where in women are confined to kitchen .this is certainly not the way where preferences are awarded based on gender and it holds no sense .For a developing country like indian it is of atmost importance to uplift the women community and create enough oppurtunities for them to flourish .I very much believe in creating a better nation by encouraging women to join politics and serve the nation,with women's reservation bill on the cards this is very much possible .The world economic forum in its 2009 repot on global gender disparities ranks india 114th in a list of 134 countries.Given the troubling statistics starting with the worsening sex ratio in the 0-6 age group in the population,eliminating the gendergap in its various dimensions should be a top political priority for rising india.Hence a greater representation of women in legislatures and parliament is likely to force a shift of focus this proirity.The world over,women's empowerment and advancement have had a beneficial impact on politics ,the economy,health ,education ,culture and society.so it is vital for us to join hands to curb this menace of gender disparities and thus contributing our bit for a brighter society.

10.Some forms of gender discrimination preached by religions are:

a)Women is regarded as unclean when she menstruates,is treated as untouchable and is not allowed in places like temples, kitchens.

b)She becomes untouchable after childbirth until she undergoes a ritual cleansing.

c)she is described as a temptress or a whore in the Hindu scriptures.

d)She has to undergo fasting for the well-being of her husband.

e)She has to cover herself from head to foot in order not to weaken the man’s purity of resolve, which is practiced in Islam.

f)She is supposed to have been created by God from Adam’s rib,as an afterthought, and God is a man (as preached in Islam)

g)She is being burnt at the stake accused of being witches to honor killings that still continue in places like India, Pakistan, and other Islamic countries.

11.Women are discriminated at workplace as they are being paid less when compared to their male counterparts for the same work.

12.The most practical example can be seen in the game of tennis. Female players are awarded with less cash price on winning, when compared to male players.

13.Discrimination against females is a stark reality that affects large portions of the society across the develpoing countries.

a)Young girls are being sold into the sex-trafficking trade,

c)They are subjected to child abuse,

d)Women are forced to sex-selective abortion,

e)They are subjected to infanticide, to neglect, to dowry deaths and honor killings.

a)A stark and recent example of sexism is Hillary Clinton being judged according to the clothes she wears and her looks, thereby belittling what she stands for intellectually, as she makes a bid for the President’s office in the U.S.

b)Despite the emancipation of women in the this country, there has not been a single
woman president to this date.

16.Some of the acts passed by Indian constitution to prevent gender discrimination are:

a)In 1987, The Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act was passed to prohibit indecent representation of women through advertisements or in publications, writings, paintings, figures or in any other manner.

b)In 1961, the Government of India passed the Dowry Prohibition Act,[40] making the dowry demands in wedding arrangements illegal.

c)In 1985, the Dowry Prohibition (maintenance of lists of presents to the bride and bridegroom) rules were framed.

d)The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 came into force on October 26, 2006 to prevent the incidents of domestic violence are higher among the lower Socio-Economic Classes.

e)The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act was passed in 1956 to prevent women from forced prostitution, domestic work or child labor.

f)All medical tests that can be used to determine the sex of the child have been banned in India, due to incidents of these tests being used to get rid of unwanted female children before birth. Female infanticide (killing of girl infants).

Hi ppl.

When we are talking of Gender discrimination here, we need to understand one fundamental point. In this male dominated society , everything is from the male point of view. So we could in fact call the topic female discrimination !

For a moment, lets think i m a very biased man . Orthodox of course. And born in India .
Well , these qualifications are enough for me to criticize on any woman at home or at work.
My opinions will always be accepted, though they may be useless in reality..while better ideas suggested by the "women of the house" are trash by default.

Lets also take for instance that i have children, and being in India, have quite a few of them. Probably a son and a daughter. Son is in the 4th class. Daughter.? She learns cooking and helps her mother. Why ? She'll need that in the future more than ABCs ...

Lets get back to the Indian households. The people, mostly rural , have even more stunning practices when it comes to gender. People think of girls as a burden , right from day one of the child's birth. While some go to extremes [female infanticide] , others make a quick buck selling their children for mere hundreds . Such is the condition of rural India.

Females are restricted to their homes, forbidden to make intelligent conversations, and never given a chance to develop.

Don't think Urban India is better though, coz even more ghastly things happen here... Here females are discriminated from the foetal stage itself ! If you happen to make it through, you'll be viewed as a burden who'll get married and take all the family wealth with her ..

Coming to education, you can observe there are lots of young girls who score top marks in examinations. A few years later , you see them in a supermarket , buying goods for their children , and saying they are housewives !!

Now , back to the modern Indian scenario ...

Social activists call for "Equality of rights for women !"
Women demand : "33 % reservation for women !"

Hey... which one's the better option ? Think about the two of them !

Lots of support groups and self help groups have sprung up to take the cause for women. Such groups face political pressure in carrying out activities. Why ? The biased people of our parents generation, are now our politicians.... What do you expect of them ?

The media and entertainment industry ,which changes the perceptions of all the viewers, treats them as 'objects' of glamor instead of working to improve the status if women in the society . This creates the necessary impetus for the younger generations to form their won biases ans stereotypes... and the results are more crimes and abuse of women.

Outside India. gender has nothing to do with anything at all.. People do all sorts of crazy things with their lives there, but then, they are not restricted by anybody ,especially by their family .

I dont say we change our thinking radically.. i say we think together to make our society a better place ! This is our generation. Age old ideas and useless gender rules must be obliterated . Our children must not even know such things existed ! It could be a good start , at least for our children !
